Warwick Police Recall That Time They Arrested Mick Jagger And Keith Richards

The Warwick Police Department rehashed the arrests of the two Rolling Stones from 54 years ago on social media.

WARWICK, RI — The Warwick Police Department took to social media to recall that time they arrested Mick Jagger and Keith Richards 54 years ago.

"On July 18, 1972, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards added an unscheduled stop to the Rolling Stones’ U.S. tour: the Warwick Police Department," the department posted to Facebook.

"After fog diverted their flight to T.F. Green Airport, an altercation involving a photographer led to their arrests," the post said. "Thousands of fans waited at Boston Garden while the pair dealt with a different kind of booking."

The pair made it to the stage because "Boston Mayor Kevin White helped arrange their release on bail, and the show eventually went on after midnight," according to the post.

"Jagger reportedly told the crowd, 'This place is better than Warwick,'" the post said.
