• Westerly Residents Push Back on License-Plate Cameras (upriseri.com) — Westerly residents pressed the Town Council on August 17 about automated license-plate cameras, but officials stressed the town has no contract and no direct control over the two devices operating locally. Councilors voiced privacy concerns yet said one camera is privately owned and another run by state police, leaving any real change dependent on future contracts or state-level action.
