WEST WARWICK, RI — It's KKK case closed!
The Warwick police say they solved the curious case of the KKK guy, and it was the work of two brothers looking for attention on social media.

"After dedicating significant investigative resources to this matter — which, from the outset, did not appear to be criminal in nature — detectives have determined the circumstances surrounding the incident," the department said in a media release.

"Through multiple interviews, detectives learned that two brothers orchestrated the event in an effort to generate attention on social media and in the news," the release said. "Both individuals fully admitted to their involvement and provided conclusive evidence confirming that they, and they alone, were responsible for the incident, which ultimately drew nationwide media attention."

The two brother accomplished their objective, as the viral video of an unknown person dressed in a Ku Klux Klan outfit — complete with pointed, hooded mask — walking around the Arctic section of town about 2 a.m. Monday completely took social and traditional media by storm.
The success of their prank notwithstanding, the brothers insist they are not white supremacists or affiliated with a racist organization, according to police.

"The individuals have explicitly denounced any affiliation with hate groups, and the investigation has revealed no evidence to suggest otherwise," the release said.
"At this time," police said, "the investigation i s considered closed."
