2 Local Men Charged in Providence Shooting

They were charged with possession of a handgun without a license to carry and possession of a handgun with an altered identification mark.

21-year-old Carlos Cruz was treated at Rhode Island Hospital after being shot in the hand early Saturday.

The Providence Journal reported that Cruz, from Dracut, Mass., was found by police near 180 Pine St. in Providence at about 2:30 a.m. His wound was not life-threatening.

Nathan Jeter, 23, and Dominic Hernandez, 22 were arrested in connection with the incident. Both men, from Woonsocket, were charged with possession of a handgun without a license to carry and possession of a handgun with an altered identification mark.
