Doherty for Congress Announces Campaign Coordinators and Satellite Headquarters for Woonsocket

EAST PROVIDENCE (August 6, 2012) - Brendan Doherty, candidate for Rhode Island’s First Congressional District announced today that former Democratic Mayor Charles C. Baldelli, and local businessman Richard Lepine will coordinate his Woonsocket campaign.

“I am very excited and humbled by the outpouring of support I am receiving throughout the City of Woonsocket” said Doherty. “I believe it is a testament to this campaign that we can gather a broad range of support. These two gentlemen are great supporters and even greater citizens of Woonsocket. Their commitment to the city should be an example to all and serve as an example of what it means to put principle before party.”

Mayor Charley Baldelli (D) served as a Woonsocket State Representative from 1976 to 1985, served as Mayor of Woonsocket from 1985 to 1989, and served on the Woonsocket City Council from 1991 to 1992. He currently serves as the Senior Recreation Director.

Richard Lepine is a business and community leader in the Woonsocket area.  He is founder and president of Lepine Financial Advisors, Inc. He also served as a former Grand Marshall at Autumnfest.

The Woonsocket Satellite Headquarters, which will open formally next week, will be managed by Ron Thifault, a community leader who will provide all volunteers with any and all campaign materials.
