About an hour after Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt's victory over incumbent Mayor Leo Fontaine became apparent, officials and supporters crowded around her on the stage at Stadium Theater.
The election results remained projected across the movie theater-screen on the theater's stage as city and state officials crowded around to congratulate the new mayor. Among the visitors were RI House Speaker Gordon Fox, RI Treasurer Gina Raimondo and Providence Mayor Angel Taveras.
"We had great organization and we were very focused on running a positive campaign," Baldelli-Hunt said.
