Bernon Elks Best Bristol, Lose To Pawtucket

Team will play Chariho Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

 

The Bernon Elks continued their winning ways by mercy ruling Bristol by a score of 12 to 2 in the first round of the Junior League State Championship Saturday.

Manny Ceballos threw the complete game allowing only two runs, striking out four and scattering seven hits while his defense made all the plays behind him. Justin Mojica lead the offense with double and two singles, Jonah Houle and Sam Hunt also had two hits each.

Bernon advanced in the winner’s bracket to play Johnston on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Tomlinson Field in Pawtucket, RI, losing 12-1.

Though the game ended the team's undefeated status, they're still in the running. The Elks play Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. at Doreen Tomlinson Field on Daggett Avenue in Pawtucket, against Chariho.
