π± Father of 5 Dies In Uxbridge Crash + Schools To Get $4M Grant
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Woonsocket.

Hey, people of Woonsocket! It's me again, Kathleen Stoddart, your host of the Woonsocket Daily.
First, today's weather:
Breezy and cooler. High: 42 Low: 27. I miss yesterday's 60 degrees.
Here are the top stories today in Woonsocket:
- The Rhode Island Blood Center (RIBC) announced a "blood emergency" on Monday. The supply is down to a 1-2 day supply and it will only get worse with holiday travel and winter weather. The ongoing pandemic is also causing fewer donations. RIBC and health care officials are calling on us Rhode Islanders to step up and donate. Donating blood only takes an hour, and there are extra precautions taken to prevent the spread of COVID. Go to the RIBC's website and schedule a donation. (WPRI12)
- Jonathan Marmol of Woonsocket was killed Saturday night in a wrong-way crash on 146 near Uxbridge. A family member explained that Marmol was on his way home from work, a job he had started only days ago. He was close to getting home when his Honda went over the median. Marmol leaves behind a wife and 5 children. (ABC6)
- The Woonsocket Education Department was selected by the Rhode Island Department of Education's LEAP District Support Program to Accelerate Learning. Districts were selected based on need. The Woonsocket Education Department will receive up to $4 million in funds and additional supports from RIDE to meet the specific needs in the Woonsocket district. (Woonsocket Radio)
