Community Care Alliance (CCA) hosted its 14th Annual Community Champions Music Event at Chan’s in Woonsocket on April 7th to honor individuals who have created positive change in the community. Over 100 people came out to show appreciation for the four honorees: Jim Ryczek, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless for his expansive grassroots organizing and public policy advocacy; David Spencer, President/CEO of the Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of RI, for his leadership and work developing standards and policies around addictions treatment; Sally McAuley, Coordinator of Integrated Services at CCA, for her expertise, staff training and dedicated work in treating people with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues; and Darlene Magaw, Director for Family Support Services at CCA, for 30 years of service to the agency, untold experience serving families from pregnancy through early childhood, unswerving dedication to helping families in crisis, and her civic involvement.
CCA extends its thanks to the 20 sponsors of the event, including premier sponsors Provider Group, CBIZ, United Healthcare Community Plan, and Mutual of America. Approximately $11,000 was raised to support the agency’s programs. For more information about CCA visit CommunityCareRI.org
