City Catches Up With Road Paving Projects

Cass Avenue was last paved 22 years ago but was one of the streets done in this year's road program, the city said.

WOONSOCKET, RI – Road work on the reconstruction of Cooper and Morse avenues began Oct. 20. Road improvements on Blackstone Street come next followed by the demolition of two blighted properties at 58-60 and 68-70 Blackstone St.

According to Blake Collins, the city's business outreach and public relations coordinator, all the work is part of the 2016 Road Reconstruction Program.

They're the last three streets scheduled for this year, Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said.
