WOONSOCKET, RI — Adel Banoub has won the 2016 Rhode Island Alfred E. Peloquin award. It will be presented in Boston at a New England Water Environment Association, Inc. luncheon in January.

Banoub is a longtime city employee, according to Blake Collins. Currently, he is acting superintendent of the Woonsocket Wastewater Treatment Facility.

"The award is given annually to an individual who has shown a high level of interest and performance in wastewater operations and who has made a significant contribution to the wastewater field," said Collins, the city's business outreach and public relations coordinator.
