13th Annual Community Health & Hearing Screening Fair
In recognition of National Minority Health Month, a campaign to raise awareness of racial and ethnic health disparities, YWCA Northern Rhode Island (YWCA) will partner with Quota International of Woonsocket to offer community members the 13th Annual Community Health & Hearing Screening Fair.

- 10:00am, Opening ceremony with Dr. Greigstone Yearwood, dignitaries and community members Early Bird Drawing
- 10:30am, Informal walking group led by AVON Walkers for Breast Cancer and American Heart Association Hands Only CPR approved by the American Heart Association and presented by Lifespan Community Health Services
- 11:00am Light healthy lunch & zumba presented by Woonsocket Senior Services
- 11:30am Healthy snacks nutrition presented by University of Rhode Island Nutrition Program
- 12:00pm Chair Yoga presented by YWCA Northern Rhode Island
- 12:30pm Door prizes
- Continuous Free health & hearing screenings including: cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, lung, stroke assessment, body fat analysis, pulmonary function, pulse oximetry, skin health, hearing, neck and back scans, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough (Tdap) vaccines, balance testing, etc.
- Adult relaxation area with reiki demonstrations, hand and shoulder massages
- Blood drive hosted by Rhode Island Blood Center
- Medication Drop Off for old unused medications to be disposed of safely hosted by Woonsocket Prevention Coalition
- Children’s activities
This event is free of charge. A light healthy lunch will be served starting at 11:00am.
During the health and hearing screening fair, medical professionals will conduct demonstrations and presentations. Translation will be available. The Woonsocket Elks Lodge is handicapped accessible.
