Christmas on the Common

The annual "Christmas on the Common" is this Sunday, Dec. 4 at Slatersville Congregational Church Common in Slatersville.

The North Smithfield High School Jazz Band, under the Direction of Mr. Fritz Benz will kick off the event from 4:30 - 5 p.m. with sounds of the season.

Christmas Caroling by the Girl Scouts from will take place from 5 – 5:30 p.m.

Following the musical performances, there will be the lighting of the Town Tree immediately followed by a visit from Santa on a Fire Department ladder truck.

Hot chocolate, cookies, crafts, face painting and holiday music, as well as photos with Santa will be held inside the Church Hall.

The event is free, however, event-goers are asked to bring in donations for the Town Food Pantry.

As an added feature this year, baked goods, Christmas trees, wreaths and other holiday items will be on sale at the newly completed Gazebo Park on School Street, from 3 to 5 p.m. to add to the festivities. Residents are asked to park in the Kendall Dean parking lot (Green Street) to access the gazebo.
