French Heritage Festival & Soirée

Sponsored by The Northern RI Council of the Arts.  This will be our 30th year.  This free festival is open to the public. This event was originally called French Farmers Market & Heritage Day but with the proliferation of farmers markets in recent years, NRICA last year decided to take a fresh approach in celebrating the city's deep roots in French-Canadian culture.  Favorites like French meat pie and dynamites will again be available along with other foods.  Music and dancing will be provided by two bands.  Rhode Island's "Les Joyeux Copains" and Canada's "Les Vent des Cantons."  Artists, crafters and vendors are invited to reserve space by calling Irene Blais, Chairperson, at 401-769-9343 or e mail Lblais198@aol.com  The day's event is followed by the soirée which will be held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Hall, Park Ave., Woonsocket, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.  Music, dancing and entertainment by "Les Vent des Cantons."  Beer, dynamites and wine will be served and ticket donation is still only $10.  Call Irene for more information and please visit our website at www.nrica.org
