Award-winning Filmmaker to Screen Genocide Documentary at St. Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church
The Woonsocket premiere of the multi-award winning filmGenocide Revealed, a documentary about the "Holodomor" or the 1932-1933 Famine-Genocide of Soviet Ukraine, will take place in the Church Hall of St. Michael Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Saturday November 12 at 7:15pm, following Vespers service which starts at 6pm in the Church.
Ukrainians all over the world remember the Holodomor during the month of November. Director/producer Yurij Luhovy, who lives in Montreal, has been traveling the US promoting his film as a means of educating the public on this tragic event from Ukraine's history. Genocide Revealed features eye-witness accounts, scholarly commentary and is narrated by actor Graham Greene, with voice-overs by Jill Hennessy and Lubomir Mykytiuk. Mr. Luhovy will be available to answer questions after the screening. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Minimum donation of $10 per person. All proceeds to go toward furthering the educational mission of this film and other related projects. The current edit of this film is not recommended for children under the age of 14 due to the graphic nature of the subject matter.

YURIJ LUHOVY, producer/director, worked in the film industry for over 35 years. A member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, he has worked on award-winning documentaries for the CBC, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and many independent productions. Yurij has worked on features with Paul Almond, MGM and co-productions in Canada, Los Angeles, France, Italy and former Yugoslavia. A multi award-winning filmmaker, he has produced, directed and edited many independent, compelling films, including the newly-released, historical documentary Genocide Revealed. Yurij believes only in quality work, and has an unbelievable drive and determination to accomplish what he sets out to do.
