Randy Oxford, Legendary Blues Cruise Host, Brings Band to Woonsocket and Beyond
The Randy Oxford Band from the Pacific Northwest will continue their U.S. East Coast tour this summer with a concert at Chan's in Woonsocket, Friday evening, July 13. The seven-piece band features the award-winning Oxford on trombone and multiple vocalists, backed by a stellar collection of musicians - each a virtuoso in his/her own right. The interplay between the performers provides the audience with something entertaining to watch, as well as to hear.
Although essentially blues-based, The Randy Oxford Band prides itself on showcasing music that defies easy classification. From classics like Etta’s “At Last,” to originals that crackle with jazz licks and funky rhythms, the band prefers to define itself, building upon each player’s creativity and talent. Randy and his band are looking forward to furthering their reputation for presenting high-energy shows, with well-crafted musical arrangements, inspired solos, and a spirited sense of fun.
