The Stadium Theatre Presents an Acting Workshop for ages 8 - 18


Featuring Alfred Fortier III and Kathleen Halloran Fortier: Director and Choreographer for Encore Repertory Company as instructors 


Sunday, January 15th, 2012 10am - 3pm

 

The Stadium Theatre is proud to be bringing Fred and Kathy back to share their vast knowledge and experience in the acting industry.  Not only have they performed, directed and produced numerous theatrical performances but Fred has also been cast as an extra in television shows and movies, most recently on the hit Showtime series “Brotherhood”, and in the movie “27 Dresses” with Katherine Heigl.

This workshop will introduce aspiring actors to performing on the big stage. Students will develop their acting skills through the use theatre games, improvisational exercises, scripted pieces and the careful instruction of experienced teachers. This is the perfect workshop to build your confidence on and off the stage.

Alfred A. Fortier III is a skilled actor and director for over 20 years. Fred has appeared in numerous productions with numerous companies. He has performed in television and films as well as an on-line web series.  He is currently the Artistic Director for The Encore Repertory Company. He has directed twenty shows in the last ten years. Fred’s most recent project is director of "Aladdin Jr." in the Encore Kids program held at the Stadium Theatre. 

 

Kathleen Halloran-Fortier is the Executive Producer and co-founder of The Encore Repertory Company.  She is a 20 year veteran theatrical choreographer and has choreographed “Annie”, “High School Musical”, “Aladdin, Jr.”, “A Chorus Line” and “Grease”.  Kathy’s performing theatre credits include, Amaryllis in “Music Man”, Martha Cratchitt in “A Christmas Carol”, Joy in “Cinderella”, Rosie in “Bye Bye Birdie”, and as Veruca Salt in “Willy Wonka”.  In August 2010 she produced and choreographed “Guys and Dolls” in the Encore Summer Stock program that is held at the Stadium Theatre.  Kathy is a graduate of Rhode Island College where she majored in theatre.
