A school time performance for grades K-5

An old shoemaker and his wife have run out of money just before Christmas. They can't afford food or clothing, let alone gifts for each other. The old shoemaker cuts out the last bit of leather he has for shoes to sell, then goes to bed. During the night, elves come and magically sew the shoes, decorating them with gold thread and diamond buttons. In the morning, the shoemaker and his wife are suprised and elated!
