St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, located at 74 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket, RI will he holding its annual “Ukrainian Festival” on Saturday, September 8th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public. All are invited and welcome to attend.
The popular Ukrainian Kitchen of the Ladies’ Sodality, the women’s guild, will highlight the day’s festivities. The menu will feature many homemade Ukrainian favorites such as varenyky (pierogies), holubtsi (stuffed cabbage), kovbasa (kielbasa) and kapusta (fried cabbage), and much more. The restaurant will provide eat-in or take-out services. There will also be a bake table. Many baked items including a variety of babkas (breads) will be available for sale. There will also be a grill area with traditional barbeque choices.
Children’s events will be available throughout the day including Face Painting, Moonbounce, Animal Experiences hands-on, interactive show, and much more.

In addition to food and festivities there will also be traditional Ukrainian Music, provided by accordionist Mike Platosz, throughout the day. Church tours will be provided at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. with information about Orthodoxy and iconography
