Mayoral Challenger Dave FisherΒ said he's happy to have brought new ideas into the debate duringΒ hisΒ race to unseat incumbent Mayor Leo FontaineΒ in this year's election.
Fisher, interviewed just after 2 p.m. at the Providence Street Fire Station, said he was optimistic about finishingΒ in the top two in the Oct. 8 primary to proceed to the November general election. "I think the protest vote here in the city is a very strong thing," Fisher said.
Fisher said he's heard from a lot of people who are unhappy with the way the city hasΒ been run for the last several years, making Fontaine vulnerable to his bid for the office. "I'm pretty confident in the results," Fisher said.
