Good morning, neighbors! Kathleen Stoddart here with the latest edition of the Woonsocket Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunny. High: 53 Low: 31. It will feel absolutely balmy compared to the '40's

Here are the top stories in Woonsocket today:

  1. Landmark medical Center was hit with a violation notice by the Rhode Island Department of Health. The hospital failed to comply with the state's COVID-19 vaccination mandate. If it can't comply within 10 days confirming that all of its unvaccinated employees have been barred from entry, the medical center will be fined (how much we don't know) and "prohibited from admitting new elective or non-emergency patients."(Providence Journal)
  2. 71-year-old Keith Gebler from North Smithfield, went missing Thursday. A Silver Alert was issued due to his heath but was canceled Thursday night after police found his vehicle and then Keith, himself, on the railroad tracks in Worcester. (Telegram)
  3. It seems the contentious relationship between the Mayor and Woonsocket City Council just got harrier and it's all about the Animal Shelter. The Mayor wants to consolidate it with the new dog park at River's Edge. City Council decided with a 7-0 vote, that the existing facility is just fine with expansion and improvements added.(Woonsocket Call)

Thanks for following along and staying informed with Kathleen Stoddart. I'm a Woonsocket resident with 3 grown kids and 3 dog babies to keep me busy along with my real estate business. I love hardware stores and can be seen checking out all the cool stuff. At Christmas, I love to bake baskets of goodies for our service workers and neighbors (using my family and friends as taste testers!)

I'll be back in your inbox tomorrow morning with your next update! If you're liking these newsletters, consider bringing some friends and neighbors along for the ride. You can send them this link to subscribe.
