🌱 Lego Builder Club Is Back! + Boy Scout Troop 2 Is Recruiting

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Woonsocket.

(Patch Media)

Hey, people of Woonsocket; today is National Blueberry Popover Day! It's me again, Sylvia, your host of the Woonsocket Daily.

The library will once again host Lego Builder Club events. Also, the Boy Scout troop is looking for new members. Finally, the infant formula recall was expanded.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and warmer. High: 51 Low: 27.

Here are the top four stories in Woonsocket today:

  1. The Lego Builder Club is back at the library! In March, it meets on 12, 19, and 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Although walk-ins are welcome if there is room, you can guarantee your child's space by calling 401-769-9044 x2. (@WoonsocketLib)
  2. If you are a parent wondering what it's like for a boy to join the Boy Scouts, there's an opportunity for you to find out! Boy Scout Troop 2 Woonsocket opened up its troop meetings for boys and their parents or caregivers. They take place every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Scout Hall at Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Avenue. The Scoutmaster is available to answer your questions. (The Valley Breeze)
  3. On Wednesday, the Rhode Island Department of Health alerted parents and caregivers that the powder infant formula is being expanded. It involves Similac powder infant formula "PM 60/40 (Lot # 27032K80 [can] / Lot # 27032K800 [case] manufactured in Sturgis, Michigan)." A child died after testing positive for Cronobacter sakazakii traced back to this lot. (OnWorldWide)
  4. On Monday afternoon, there was a house fire in Central Falls. Six residents were displaced, and the home is deemed a total loss. It turns out that "the cause of the fire was electrical . . . the lithium batteries inside a device left plugged in on the first floor caught fire." Scuttlebutt says it might have been a PS4 charger.
