The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Woonsocket.

Happy Wednesday, neighbors! Let's get this day started. Kathleen here with everything you need to know today in Woonsocket.
First, today's weather:
Plenty of sunshine. High: 44 Low: 28.
Here are the top stories today in Woonsocket:
- What better time than Thanksgiving, to write to a service member? I'm sorry to say, I defaced a magazine by ripping out the instructions. I sat down and wrote my letter. Do not include your contact information or your last name, leave the letter unsealed for inspection or it won't be delivered. Mail to: Support Our Troops, 13791 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa FLA 33613
- Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) are urging all fully vaccinated adults who plan to gather with family and friends on Thanksgiving to get booster doses as soon as possible. I was having a lively discussion about the booster shots yesterday, and, for me, it comes down to protecting people that are elderly and/or at risk of scary complications. (Woonsocket Radio and TV)

- Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary, Inc.: The volunteers were sorting through some donations when "Alf" the 80s sitcom alien was discovered. A social media post drew a lot of attention and they decided to auction "Alf" to the highest bidder with proceeds benefiting the sanctuary. Over $300 was raised and used to purchase a lot of food and paper goods. We appreciate Alf, even though his main source of food was cats, lol. (Facebook)
- I was looking on the RI DLT job board and saw some CDL Driver postings in Woonsocket. (EmployRI)

I'm Kathleen Stoddart and I live in Woonsocket, have 3 grown kids and 3 rescue dogs to keep me busy. I love hardware stores and can be seen checking out all the cool stuff. Being a Realtor, I sort of have an excuse. Neighbors, please don't think we're crazy but my husband deep-fries our Thanksgiving turkey and he lowers it into the pot with his hockey stick!
