New Homemaker Training Program Graduates First Class
Release: 11 local students graduate from new program at FRCA.

(FRCA) has partnered with Homefront Health Care to offer a new Homemaker training in Woonsocket. Homemakers visit elderly individuals in their own homes and provide light housekeeping, cooking and support with errands, enabling the elderly to remain in their own homes.
The following students received certificates from the program: Marleny Cepeda, Kari Spaulding, Rebecca Lindall, Tammy Rojee, Ashley Guilmain, Stephanie Nasif, Natasha De la Rosa, Yannely Acevedo, Ashley Nyarko, Doriana Santana and Phyllis Taylor.

Instructors Carol Hartman Rabbitt, FRCA and Tammy Martin, RN Homefront Health Care provided the training for eleven students all of whom graduated from the program and will now pursue jobs as homemakers. “They are a wonderful, caring, supportive group of women who, through their hard work, dedication and determination proved they are prepared to successfully meet the challenges of being employed as a homemaker,” said Rabbitt.
The next three-week Homemaker class will begin March 26 at Family Resources Community Action Employment & Training office at 55 Main Street in Woonsocket. Interested individuals should attend an Information Orientation Session held every Wednesday at 3 p.m. at FRCA, 55 Main Street, Woonsocket to learn more about this and other training programs. FRCA’s Employment & Training Center provides education, training and support services for eligible Rhode Island and Massachusetts residents interested in creating long-term careers in healthcare and non-healthcare settings, starting in entry-level positions and advancing to credentialed high-growth, high-demand careers within these fields. Family Resources Community Action (FRCA) is also now enrolling for healthcare reimbursement specialist and administrative office management training programs that begin on Jan. 23, 2012. Programs are 10 weeks in length and cover job readiness, keyboarding, computer fundamentals, MS Word and Excel, and medical terminology, as well as certifications in areas such as Customer Service, Billing and Coding Specialist, Electronic Health Record and other MS applications.
An internship component of the course is also available to provide students with direct work experience and assist them in their goal to secure employment. The Internship program is based on employer needs and student performance, and there is no cost to the employer.
Classes will be held at FRCA’s Employment & Training Center, 55 Main Street, Woonsocket, RI, Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interested individuals should attend an Information Orientation Session held every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at FRCA, 55 Main Street, Woonsocket to learn more about this and other training programs.
