Woonsocket Police Log: Driver abandons crashed BMW
The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A city man who had a tattooist etch the words "Only God can judge" across his back may be having second thoughts about that choice of words.
Eliezer Saez III, 23, of 160 Fourth St., faces charges of failure to report an accident resulting in property damage, false report of a crime, and obstructing an officer in performance of his duty.

His problems began Saturday afternoon, when a driver called the police station from the Social District. When Officer Jesse Nunnemacher arrived at the scene, the man told him someone in a BMW had harassed him in traffic, and that a passenger in the car had flashed a handgun.
A moment later, another officer contacted Nunnemacher to say he had picked up a man identified as Orlando Merced, who was walking away from
an area near Cold Spring Park where a BMW had crashed. He took a photograph of Merced and sent it to Nunnemacher. The driver then allegedly identified Merced as the passenger with the gun.

At the , Merced told police he got a ride to Woonsocket from someone he hardly knew, and could not remember the man's name. The BMW was found empty on Katherine Street near Cold Spring Park. The driver had struck and damaged a wrought-iron fence that surrounds the park.
While Nunnemacher was writing his report on the incident, a woman called the station to say a BMW she borrowed from a relative was missing from the spot where she had parked it. She also said she had slept that afternoon, and when she woke up she unexpectedly found Saez, her boyfriend, sitting on her couch. She had asked if he knew anything about the missing BMW, and he said no.
Nunnemacher told her to come to the station. Police arrested Saez later that day.
"It has always been there"
A city man who could not explain how he acquired the license plate on his car is facing charges of receiving stolen goods. Shaun M. Perron, 28, of 26 Bellingham St., is also charged with possession of dangerous weapons, knives.
Officer Thomas Gormley was in the Social District late Monday morning when he saw a black Audi with front end damage and only one license plate traveling on Clinton Street. He followed the car, which was also emitting excessive smoke. When he saw the car pull into a parking lot, he did the same. A check by the station dispatcher revealed the car's license plate actually belonged on a Mitsubishi, and had been reported stolen.
Other officers were dispatched to the scene, and Gormley approached the driver, Perron. When the officer asked about the plate, Perron said he knew nothing about it. When the officer asked why he was in the lot, he stated he was there to shop at Family Dollar. Gormley noted he had parked some
distance from the store, even though there were few cars in the lot.
The officers then had Perron step out of his car and put him into the back seat of a cruiser. They asked several more times about the plate, and each time he allegedly replied "It has always been there." A search of the Audi turned up two knives with long blades.
Perron was arrested and taken to the station. Police also gave him a citation for operating an unregistered vehicle without insurance. In addition, police had a warrant for his arrest.
