Red Cross Helping 12 Displaced by Fire

No people were hurt, but a dog did die in the Tuesday fire.

The American Red Cross is providing help to 12 people, including three children, across four families after a fire on East School Street in Woonsocket.

The Red Cross said it was helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs for the victims of the fire that broke out around 2 p.m.

A dog did die in a fire, but otherwise nobody was hurt in the blaze.

The building suffered heavy smoke and heat damage inside, firefighters said, and it was unclear how long it would be until residents might be able to go back inside.
