State Police Arrest Woonsocket Men On Outstanding Warrants

WOONSOCKET, RI — State Police arrested two Woonsocket men on separated outstanding warrants. John Medrano, 25, has been charged with violating a suspended sentence on a drug charge. Luis Negron, 36, was charged with failure to appear in court on a larceny and drug charge.

On Sunday morning about 9:30 a.m., State Police said they took Medrano into custody at a traffic stop on Route 95 North in Providence on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for violation of a suspended sentence. The original charge was possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance originating out of Woonsocket.

Medrano was taken to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and later taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

On Monday morning about 11 a.m., State Police said they took Negron into custody at a traffic stop on Cranston Street in Providence on a Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on a charge of larceny out of the Providence Police Department, and failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on a charge of possession of a controlled substance originating out of the Providence Police Department.

Negron was taken to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and later taken to Providence Superior Court.
