Taxes

Alright, I was just about ready to jump on the "Woonsocket isn't all that bad" train and see what I could do to make things better and then it happened... I got THE bill. Gulp. So for a house valued at $150,000, taxes are $3600 a year? Really? And this is with the supplemental taxes about to come down I believe next month? For what? The privilege to live here? Better trash pickup? Nope, we pay seperately for that. Oh yeah, that is going to double. Better roads? Nope, I get an alignment every quarter. It's for the pleasure of living in a city that the leaders turned a blind eye to all the problems and only now we have to pay for them. Our problems didn't just appear. Someone had some pie charts and saw everything declining. What were the cities leaders doing besides deciding whether you can have an 8 foot fence in your yard. You like those nice shiny junior high schools we have? Don't get me wrong, something had to be done. But it bugs me that alot of families using those schools didn't and will never pay a dime toward it. But I did. And probably you did too. Don't  like what I had to say? Read the disclaimer in previous post.
