Thursday: Math Night, French Group and Mocktails

We've made it to another Thursday in a very busy week for Woonsocket - here are some things to guide you through the next 24 hours:
1) Math night - is scheduled to hold its annual Math/Science Night tonight, from 5-7 p.m. The event will be held in the gymnasium at the Villa Nova building, 60 Florence Dr. The night will feature pizza, prizes, and fun hands-on science and math activities. (Each student who attends will receive a certificate of attendance for extra credit - score!)

2) French group - Swing by the library tonight at 7 p.m. and join up with Parlons Francais. The French conversation group is open to anyone with an interest in returning to their French-Canadian roots.
3) Mocktails ala Woonsocket - Join the Woonsocket Prevention Coalition as it competes with 24 RI high schools and youth task force groups for the development of the best tasting, and most original non- alcoholic beverage recipe. The fun at MADD RI’s 15th Annual Spring Awareness Mocktail Competition begins tonight, 6:30 p.m., at AMICA Insurance, Building 100, 100 Amica Way, Lincoln.

4) This means war - On this day in 1861, Fort Sumter, South Carolina is shelled by the Confederacy, starting the US Civil War, according to brainyhistory.com.
5) Showers - OK, today, it'll probably rain. Temperatures will get as high as 52 degrees with some showers. Better grab an umbrella on your way out the door.
