Police Identify The Two People Found Dead In Woonsocket Home

Police are describing the death of two people found in their Woonsocket home as a murder-suicide.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Police have identified the two people whose bodies were found in their home following police forcing themselves inside after receiving calls about gunshots.

Woonsocket police at a press conference identified the married couple as Glenn Benvenuti, 56, and Michelle Benvenuti, 45. Their death was described as a murder-suicide.

According to police,Glenn Benvenuti shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. The couple's bodies were found at 11 Bluestone Drive on Sunday morning. Their 7-year-old child was found unharmed and was in another room when gunshots were fired.

Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates told WJAR 10 that the department was called about a possible shooting inside the home at about 11 a.m. A SWAT team made its way inside after no one came to the door.
