Up To You: Mission Vending Service

If it were up to you, what would you like to see happen to the property that was once home to Mission Vending Service?

The spot at 63 Sayles St. (Near the corner of Sayles Street and River Street — it faces River Street) was the one-time home of Mission Vending Service, a repair shop for vending machines.

Now, the building, not far from Market Square and , is the home to two businesses and a private recording studio, with more space left over for lease, said the owner, John DiPonzio.

DiPonzio bought the building from the former owner 5 years ago, and has set up shop there for his business, Design Wood Floors, winner of Best of Boston 2008. DiPonzio has also rented part of the building to a boxing coach, and set up a private recording studio there for his daughter.

There's still 3,000 square feet open on the first floor of the building, and another 6,500 square feet available in the basement, but DiPonzio said he's willing to move things around to suit any future tenant. The front of the building sports a sign offering custom designed storage or office space, asking interested parties to call (617) 967-4071. DiPonzio said since he's in construction, he can work with any willing tenant to set things up to suit them.

DiPonzio said he's interested in providing space for any legal purpose, but he'd prefer to help out someone who has a dream they'd like to get off the ground. He said he feels he has the freedom to offer a good deal. "I am able to give it to them at a very reasonable rate," DiPonzio said.

So, were up to you, what would you like to see set up shop in this River Street building?
