Tune into everything going down near you with the Woonsocket Daily.

Morning, people of Woonsocket! Kathleen Stoddart here with today's copy of the Woonsocket Daily and a Happy Halloween to all.
First, today's weather:
Rather cloudy and breezy. High: 64 Low: 47.
Here are the top stories in Woonsocket today:
- Gov. McKee and other government figureheads visited the COVID-19 clinic at Woonsocket's Hamlet Middle School Saturday to support vaccination efforts. Woonsocket continues to have one of the lowest vaccination rates in RI. They were met with protesters against the mandated healthcare vaccinations. Monday will end the 30 day extension for healthcare workers in the state. Paul Rianna not only led this protest but the one outside Governor McKee's home earlier this month that led to arrests. (WJAR)
- Have you heard of Deathcap mushrooms? They could be growing in your backyard and you don't even know it. Sadly, a pup in Providence ate one and died within 48 hours due to liver failure. So people, if you have dogs or kids, check your yard. (NBC Turn to 10)
- The pandemic has only worsened the lack of affordable housing in Rhode Island. In Woonsocket, an annual income of $47,180 is needed for a 2-bedroom apartment. Can you believe that this is the lowest annual income required second only to Burrillville? (WPRI )
- Governor Dan McKee, Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor, and Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt toured Woonsocket businesses Friday morning to see how they were recovering from the pandemic. They were surprised to learn there was a shortage of CDL drivers. Truck drivers in general are a hot commodity! ( ABC6)
Today in Woonsocket:
- Come Worship Jesus At Firm Foundation Christian Church, 84 Cumberland St., this Sunday at 10 am and stay away from the Dark Side! (Woonsocket Calendar)

Now you're in the loop and ready to start this Sunday off right with Kathleen Stoddart. I'm a Woonsocket resident with 3 grown kids and 3 dog babies to keep me busy. I love hardware stores and can be seen checking out all the cool stuff. I also work as a local realtor. At Christmas, I love to bake baskets of goodies for our service workers and neighbors (using my family as taste testers lol)
