Volunteers Needed To Clean Up Historic Woonsocket Cemetery
Wear long pants, sleeves, gloves and a hat and bring gardening equipment if you have it.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Volunteers are needed to help clean up a historic Woonsocket cemetery. The three-acre lot is seriously overgrown, with trees and brush filling the forgotten area.
The cemetery is located at the intersection of Grand and Logee Streets. A preliminary clean-up event was held this past Saturday, but more work is needed. This week's cleanup will once again be on Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. Volunteers are asked to wear long sleeves, pants, gloves and a hat to protect against poison ivy. If you have them, please bring hedge trimmers, rakes and/or shovels.
The historic cemetery is is the final resting place for the First Rhode Island Civil War Fatality. The overgrown, heavily vandalized area needs a lot of work.
