WHS Class of 2004 Raises $1K for George Nasuti Scholarship Fund

Woonsocket High School class of 2004 raised $1,000 in support of the George Nasuti Scholarship Fund at their 10-year reunion.

George Nasuti, the athletic director of Woonsocket High School, passed away in February 2014. The George Nasuti Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Nasuti.

“We raised money for a great cause, and for a man who did so much for our city and especially our students, it’s what Class of 2004 stands for,” said Shannon Leclerc, a member of the planning committee.

About 150 guests attended the WHS Class of 2004 reunion at the Italian Workingmen’s Club in December.

“The reunion turnout was a success, we all had a lot of fun reminiscing about growing up together in the great city of Woonsocket,” Leclerc said.

A few of donors included Krista and Joe Carella ($100), Michelle and Jerry Lapierre ($100), Rose and Henry Trudeau ($50) and City Councilman Garrett Mancieri ($25) in addition to in-kind donations from Ciro’s Tavern, the Stadium Theatre, the Opulent Squid, Kyle Levesque and and Annette Gouin.
