WHS Students Win Honorable Mention In Blue Water Challenge

Sophomores' video of wasteful water draws recognition.

 

Mykayla Jackson and Robert Morin, sophomores at Woonsocket High School, took home an Honorable Mention April for their video in Save The Bay's "Blue Water Challenge".  

The Blue Water Challenge, sponsored by Veolia Water, an international water services provider headquartered in Houston, TX, was open to all high-school students in Rhode Island. The challenge invited students to create an original public-service announcement (PSA) to raise awareness on water conservation.

Jackson and Morin's video, "Ratchet" opens with an image of a dripping faucet slowly filling up a sink, with a voiceover telling viewers about the importance of tightening up their faucets to keep from wasting water. 

Save The Bay hosted an awards reception at Save The Bay Center, 100 Save The Bay Dr. in Providence to honor 55 local Blue Water Challengers, where Jackson and Morin were presented with their awards.
