Here are the top stories today in Woonsocket:

  1. A fall nor'easter is bringing the threat of heavy rain and high winds into Wednesday, according to WJAR's Storm Team 10. (turnto10.com)
  2. A Pawtucket man was stabbed overnight in Woonsocket. Officers responded to Mason Street and Second Avenue where 27-year-old Sean McParlin, of Pawtucket, was stabbed in the stomach and in the arm.
  3. Rhode Island is prepared for approval for vaccines for 5- to 11-year-olds. The FDA approval would mean shots in the arms of up to 80,000 children in Rhode Island as soon as early next month. Families will have access to four different avenues to get the shot, including state-run clinics, community clinics, schools, and pediatricians.
  4. Bryant University's International Business program has cracked the top 20 in U.S. News & World Report's 2022 national rankings. Bryant International Business program is ranked No. 3 in the country and a Best Value major (No. 10) by College Factual.(news.bryant.edu)
  5. The Food and Drug Administration has announced two more onion recalls. The FDA is urging people to throw out any onions from HelloFresh and EveryPlate received July 7 through Sep. 8 due to potential salmonella.
