
Justyna Pietrus, valedictorian of Woonsocket High School's graduating class of about 300 students, is the daughter of Lucyna Pietrus of 365 South Main St., and the late Henryk Pietrus.
Justyna has an impressive list of activities. She is a member of the Concert and Jazz Bands and she was also the president for the 2011-2012 school year. She was a member of the cross country team and captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams where she was named All-Division. She is also a captain of the Math Team, Treasurer of the Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Ski Club, National United Youth Association and Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse.
Justyna is a very active member in her church. She is an altar server, a Sunday school teacher, and has attended many youth retreats.
Justyna has received many awards and honors including the Indoor Track Team Coaches Award, the Harvard Book Award and the Jason Fairclough Memorial Camp Spirit Award.
Justyna traveled to Rwanda with a group of students and teachers for three weeks to donate books and scholarships and to learn about their culture.
As class Valedictorian, Justyna has earned a GPA of 99.14 and will be attending Harvard University in the fall.
