Woonsocket Man Arrested On Gun Charges: Cops

The Woonsocket man was arrested by the Intelligence Unit and High Intensity Drug Trafficking task force, police said

WOONSOCKET, RI — A Woonsocket man was arrested on gun charges, police said.

Brian Miranda, 27, was arrested Tuesday by the Rhode Island State Police Intelligence Unit and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, the state police said in a media release.

Miranda was charged with carrying a pistol or revolver without a license or permit, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a crime of violence, alteration of marks of identification on firearms, and large-capacity feeding devices, the release said.

Miranda was also arrested on a warrant charging him with domestic breaking and entering and domestic simple assault, according to the release.

"Mr. Miranda was taken into custody and later arraigned in Sixth District Court.," the release said.
