Woonsocket Man Pleads No Contest To Unemployment Fraud: AG
Ted Raymond, 45, of Woonsocket, pleaded nolo contendere on June 6 to one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500.

WOONSOCKET, RI — Ted Raymond, 45, of Woonsocket, pleaded nolo contendere on June 6 to one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500. He was accused of collecting more than $13,000 in unemployment insurance benefits while he was working. Raymond was sentenced to eight years of probation and was ordered to pay $13,746 in restitution, at a rate of no less than $150 per month.
According to the state Attorney General's office, Raymond called his weekly unemployment claims into the state Department of Labor and Training over the telephone but did not report his earnings accurately. He was working at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, between Nov. 7, 2009 and Sept. 16, 2013, while he was collecting unemployment benefits.
