Woonsocket Men Caught Stealing Traffic Cones from Road Striping Detail
Police said an alert state trooper saw a Volkswagen drive by with 20 cones in the back seat.

Two Woonsocket men were caught with their car crammed full of traffic cones by an alert state trooper working a line striping detail.
The Rhode Island State Police announced Tuesday that Nicholas Raymond, 22, of 10 Carey Court, Woonsocket, and Thomas Blackshaw, 25, of 142 Cote Ave., Woonsocket, admitted to taking the cones after a line striping crew put them on Diamond Hill Road to mark freshly-painted lines.
The trooper was working the detail and saw a gray Volkswagen drive by with cones in the back seat at around 12:36 a.m., police said.

Raymond and Blackshaw had taken 20 cones owned by TMI Services, Inc., police said.
Both were arraigned before a justice of the peace at the Scituate barracks and are facing larceny charges.

Both were released on $1,000 personal recognizance and are due to appear in court on Aug. 13.
