Ryan Johnson, 23, of 207 Orchard St., Millis, MA, was arrested last week at 284 Ballou St. for simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and larceny under $500. Officers answered to reports of a suspicious person in yards near the intersection of Orchard and Ballou Streets and arrived to find witness Leonel Rodriguez. Rodriguez said that he saw a man walking through yards carrying solar lamps for illumination. When he confronted the man, who was later identified as Johnson, the intruder threw one of the lamps at him.

Officers spoke to Johnson, asking him to leave the area several times, though according to reports he kept returning. While speaking to witnesses, police heard someone yell "Help, he's in my yard." They located Johnson in another back yard, but he reportedly ran as officers approached, jumping several low fences to cross three yards. Police caught him while he was trying to climb a chain link fence and report that he made "loud unreasonable noises" during the arrest. The lamps were returned to the owner at another neighboring home.
