Woonsocket Targets EPA Funding For Revitalizing Businesses
Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said $300,000 EPA-funded grant for environmental assessment will go toward repurposing buildings.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Woonsocket will use $300,000 in Environmental Protection Agency grant funding for assessment and planning for key buildings on re-purposing several buildings in the city.
Properties included in the program include Dorado Mill at 719 River Street, the former CNC building at 20 Privilege Street, the former Hospital Trust Bank building at 162 Main Street and
the former Bonin Spinning Co. at 1265 Mendon Road.
The revitalization and redevelopment is being done within the Riverfront Redevelopment District, a strip of land located along the Blackstone River and the River Street corridor, near the Dorado property at 719 River Street and the former Seville Dyeing facility on First Avenue.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt's Office said it is targeting these properties for the possible uses of light industrial, commercial and retail development, renewable energy and enhanced public amenities.
