Woonsocket Tax Rate Set to Increase 5 Percent

Woonsocket's tax is set to increase 5 percent after the City Council approved the annual budget this week.

The Woonsocket Call reported the budget would result in the tax rate increasing from $34.56 to $36.44 per $1,000 property valuation.

The budget also includes the elimination of the annual $96 trash fee, according to the Call.
