Woonsocket Youth March Against Bullying
Youth from Woonsocket meet with kids from all over Rhode Island to march on the capitol in hopes of turning April Fools Day into April Friends Day.
In an attempt to help curb bullying in schools across the country, children from all over Rhode Island banded together on Friday afternoon in hopes to see April Fools' Day, statistically one of the worst days of the year for bullying, changed to "April Friends Day."
The students and their adult sponsors met at the University of Rhode Island Providence campus early in the morning for a series of events that included youth speakers, workshops, martial arts demonstrations and even a DJ. After the key note speaker, all present met up in front of the campus building and marched through the streets of Providence to the State House where they held an anti-bullying rally in the rotunda which included speeches and demonstrations.
