Here are the top stories in Charleston today:

1. Deputies have arrested two men following a high-speed chase and a foot chase near the North Charleston area. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested Deron Maxwell, 44, and Fordell Washington, 42, Friday night after a deputy spotted a car with a stolen license plate on I-526. Investigators reported that in the suspect's car they found new TVs, smartwatches, purses, and cookware that still had price tags on them. (Live 5 News WCSC)
2. A 14-year-old boy will be facing charges after school officials found a loaded gun in a bookbag at North Charleston High School. North Charleston police officials said around noon on Monday officers were called after a suspicious bookbag was found. A report states school officials looked inside to see who it belonged to and found a loaded firearm. According to police, the school's SRO conducted an investigation and identified the alleged offender. (Live 5 News WCSC)
3. The Charleston Police Department has received a $30K training grant from the Rotary Club of Charleston to be put towards CPD's Leadership Development Institute. (WCBD News 2)
4. "Archaeology Magazine" has named the slave tag from 1853 found at the College of Charleston among its Top 10 Discoveries of 2021. (holycitysinner.com)
5. A Switzerland-based medical supplier, Belimed Life Science Inc., is opening soon in North Charleston and is expected to create 22 jobs. (WCBD News 2)
