Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. Charleston County has fired a telecommunicator with the county's Consolidated 911 Center after an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. The investigation revealed that the telecommunicator had violated policy. A preliminary internal investigation had determined that no emergency 911 calls were mishandled. (WCBD News 2)
  2. The Charleston County Coroner has identified the body that plummeted about 100 feet at Detyens Shipyard in North Charleston. According to the Coroner, Munoz Bustos died from blunt force trauma during the industrial accident. He was reportedly working unharnessed in the vessel's smokestack when his platform broke.   3. A Peppa Pig live show is being performed at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 8. The performance titled Peppa Pig's Adventure will begin at 2:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase meet-and-greet tickets in addition to the live musical performance.
