Here are the top stories in Charleston today:
- The City of Charleston reported a 99% compliance COVID-19 vaccine requirement, just ahead of its Nov. 22 deadline. City officials report that 90% of city employees are fully vaccinated as of this past Friday; 9% of employees have approved medical or religious exemptions. The city has a total of 12 non-compliant employees. (WCBD News 2)
- Students at Hanahan High, as well as their feeder schools Hanahan Elementary, Bowens Corner Elementary, and Hanahan Middle School donated around 2,500 items to the Ronald McDonald House. The donations included items such as prewrapped snacks, paper towels, and eating utensils, and reportedly needed to be transported via bus due to the sheer volume. The items will go towards helping the people staying at the House, which has been a "home away from home" for families who have children undergoing medical treatment since 1983. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- North Charleston Police have made an arrest in a hotel parking lot homicide. (ABC NEWS 4)
