🌱 All-Electric Garbage Truck Test + Dogs At Waterparks

Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. The City of Charleston is testing an all-electric garbage truck. The city is conducting a two-day trial to determine if the vehicle can complete an entire route without needing a recharge. The city is considering a proposal to replace its entire diesel garbage truck fleet with the all-electric alternative - if it can complete the task. (WCBD News 2)
  2. The Lowcountry Food Bank is hosting a farmers market distribution event this weekend. The event will be on Friday at Webster University on Faber Place Drive between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The distribution will continue until supplies run out. It will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. (WCBD News 2)
  3. Local dogs are invited to splash in Charleston-area waterparks on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Splash Island Waterpark at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park and Splash Zone Waterpark at James Island County Park are participating. Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark in North Charleston will allow dogs to splash on Sunday, Sept. 11. All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations to participate in the event. (Channel 2 News)
