Charleston County schools launch mobile Head Start classroom (live5news.com) — Charleston County families will soon see a new Head Start classroom-on-wheels visiting neighborhoods instead of requiring trips downtown to 75 Calhoun Street. The converted school bus will offer play spaces for young children, on-site enrollment help, and Head Start resources, while also helping the district recruit both students and future teachers across the county's rural and urban communities.
   

2. More than a hundred Fire Hydrants Across Charleston Water System Found Out of Service - Would You Know If Yours Was One of Them? (live5news.com) — Hundreds of fire hydrants in the Charleston Water System, including some in nearby neighborhoods like Ravenel, are currently out of service, raising serious questions about fire protection. Utility officials say hydrants are closely spaced and regularly inspected, but firefighters stress that even a small number of failed hydrants can slow emergency response. Residents are urged to report leaking, damaged, or blocked hydrants and keep three feet of clearance around them, especially during hurricane season.
   

3. Family Sues Nursing Home After Elderly Woman Dies With Nearly 1,000 Ant Bites (pulptastic.com) — An 83-year-old woman's family is suing Harmony at West Ashley in Charleston after she was found outside the memory care facility covered in fire ant bites and later died in hospice. The lawsuit alleges serious security and care failures, while the Charleston County Coroner has not yet confirmed her official cause of death. The case is drawing intense scrutiny of local elder care standards.
   

4. More than 30 people indicted in Mexican cartel to Charleston drug trafficking pipeline (counton2.com) — State and federal authorities say more than 30 people tied to Mexican cartels have been indicted in a drug and trafficking pipeline reaching into the Charleston area. A February raid in North Charleston led to dozens of arrests and the rescue of suspected trafficking victims, as investigators describe illicit nightclubs fueling narcotics, firearms, and human trafficking across South Carolina.
   

5. Battery demolish Miami in 5-0 home victory on Berry's brace, goals by Foster, Smith, Hughes (live5news.com) — Charleston Battery fans just saw a dominant 5–0 home win over Miami FC at Patriots Point, extending the club's regular-season home unbeaten streak to 24 matches. Miguel Berry scored twice and added an assist, while Maalique Foster, Graham Smith, and Alec Hughes each found the net. The result keeps Charleston second in the Eastern Conference and atop the league in goals scored.
