Body Found in Ravenel, Homicide Suspected

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office and the Charleston County Coroner are investigating a possible murder after a pair of children found a body in Ravenel.

The children were playing hide and seek near a vacant home on Roper Road Extension when they discovered a man's body in the wood-line behind the home around 11:15 a.m., according to a CCSO statement.

"Based on injuries sustained by the victim this incident is being investigated at this time as a homicide," Mjr. James Brady said. "Detectives and the Coroner’s Office continue to work identify the victim and detectives are working to determine a motive and to piece together details of the death."
